Welcome to

A Children's Literature Gathering

What is A Children's Literature Gathering? - The Gathering is a collection of web sites devoted to stories and books for young people. The format for this Gathering is what's known as a web ring. A web-ring is a collection of sites sharing a similar theme, linked in an electronic circle.

You are invited to visit and explore each of the sites in the ring by clicking "next" at each site. You will eventually arrive back at your starting point. During your journey, you are likely to encounter adventure, humor, diversity, and knowledge. We have done our best to try to make certain there are no unpleasant dragons lurking in the links.

Who may join A Children's Literature Gathering? - Web sites devoted to children's books, and sites devoted to high quality original children's stories are welcome to join this Gathering. Preference will be given to sites which include original content relating to children's books.

The audience for A Children's Literature Gathering is
  • Adults with a fondness and appreciation for children's books, both past and present
  • Children (of all ages), for whom the stories were written in the first place.

That said, the following types of sites would likely be considered inappropriate for inclusion:

Because visitors who are invited to explore will, in fact explore, the entirety of any site accepted for inclusion in A Children's Literature Gathering should be appropriate for family viewing. In other words, common sense is expected to prevail with the general guideline being "Try Not To Hurt Each Other".

That said, no representations can made about the type of material a visitor may encounter while exploring links leading away from members pages. Also, although A Children's Literature Gathering will make every effort to review sites in detail prior to inclusion, should we be advised that content on a members site has changed to include material considered inappropriate for viewing by the typical audience of A Children's Literature Gathering , members can expect an inappropriate site to be promptly replaced with one considered better suited for general viewing. There are, after all, children present.

Should an applicant have questions as to whether a site would be considered appropriate for inclusion, please feel free to inquire first.
