AGREEMENT
IF YOUR STORY OR ILLUSTRATIONS
ARE ACCEPTED FOR INCLUSION
The following is intended to simply but formally set forth terms of publication
between the undersigned Author and/or Illustrator, and the Bedtime-Story Literacy
Project.
ABOUT BEDTIME-STORY.com
Bedtime-Story has been named the
Web's premiere children's story site. As a 501(c)3 (non-profit) corporation,
the children's section of Bedtime-Story
functions as a cooperative effort, giving a limited and exclusive number of
talented authors and illustrators, many of whom may be new and unpublished,
or self-published with insufficient exposure to potential purchasers, an opportunity
to submit and have published one or more representative samples of their work.
The author or illustrator's intent and desire is to familiarize various commercial entities, traditional publishers, and/or and the parents of young readers, with their name and the quality of their creative work. Towards that end, Bedtime-Story, which also accepts no paid advertising, charges no admission, and requires no registration for reader entry, provides both a high profile venue, as well as professional literary services, at no charge.
The Bedtime-Story Literacy Project's web site is located at; Bedtime-Story.com
PUBLISHING RIGHTS and PERMISSIONS
In return for granting rights and
permissions for Bedtime-Story to exclusively publish the representative work(s)
of select authors or illustrators on the Bedtime-Story.com website in perpetuity,
(as further noted on the submission instruction page) courtesy links will
be provided to the author or illlustrator's own (family friendly) website
or the author or illustrator's otherwise specified online purchase site.
Here's an example
on the tale TheBoy Under The Bed. The tale is on Bedtime-Story, with
a courtesy link to purchase a hard copy of the book and info on the author &
publisher.
This means that the tale may not be published on any other online story site,
and once it's featured on Bedtime-Story.com, it will effectively remain there
forever, so that even when Bedtime-Story kids become adults and have children
of their own, your talent will still be there for them to read, admire, and
enjoy. Bedtime-Story was created in 1996. By now, the original Bedtime-Story
kids DO have children of their own.
Bedtime-Story will offer to review, critique, edit, provide partial ghostwriting or substantial reworking as required to brand new works, (edited versions MUST be reviewed and approved by the author or illustrator prior to publishing). Bedtime-Story editors will also provide ongoing one-on-one counseling, constructive criticism, and candid feedback.
Bedtime-Story Authors are encouraged to locate, select, and arrange a cooperative effort with the Illustrator they feel is best able to bring their tale to life. If the author has no preference, Bedtime Story will be pleased to offer suggestions. If the author has no illustrator when the author's story is submitted, Bedtime-Story may insert interim cut and paste images as a guide for the tale's eventual illustrator. There is no charge for Bedtime-Story's services.
NOTE: We're in the process of adding
a section called BathtubBook, which will offer really good, reasonably priced
novels for Bedtime-Story kids who are now grownups. BathtubBook novel sales
will help us continue to keep Bedtime-Story children's stories and our related
services to authors, illustrators, and visitors free.
Just copy and paste this info to an email if we've approved your story and/or illustration's inclusion:
