If your story is REALLY good, and we like what we
see, the Bedtime-Story Literacy Project (aka Bedtime-Story) will
provide the EDITING, FORMATTING, and COVER ILLUSTRATION to convert
your manuscript to an e-book, and get your tale in front of
Bedtime-Story's grown-up readers in our new BathtubBook novel
section.
YOU WILL BE LISTED AS AUTHOR on the story.
We'll also provide a DIRECT LINK from the story order page
to your own (family-friendly) author web page so that readers
can give you feedback directly.
You will retain the limited RIGHTS to list and
sell the e-book version of what will now be a professionally edited
and formatted story, complete with illustrated cover, on Amazon
as a Kindle ebook, with 100% of the revenue from sales of that
Kindle ebook on the Amazon site going directly to you.
You will be donating 100% of the ownership of the
story to the Bedtime-Story Literacy Project, Inc. a 501 (C)(3)
non-profit. You may choose to donate just the one, or propose
to donate multiple books over a period of time.
Proceeds from the sale of the story on the BathtubBook
section of Bedtime-Story or elsewhere remain the property of Bedtime-Story
Literacy Project, Inc.
Bedtime-Story will not compete by offering the
ebook for sale on either of the two online e-book marketing sites
chosen by the author.
We'll help YOU to become a literary success, and
in turn, you'll be helping US keep the children's section of the
27-year-old Bedtime-Story Literacy Project free to readers of
all ages.
Your donation will be tax deductible for
an amount equal to the cost of professional editing, formatting,
conversion, and cover illustration. In other words, what your
donation will be worth to the non-profit children's site.
Here's how it works: FIRST, SEND US A SYNOPSIS,
give us the approximate word count, and the URL of your personal
website, and then tell us a little bit about yourself for the
author page of your story.
We'll review your submission (remember it has to
be REALLY GOOD), and if our editors give us the OK, we'll invite
you to participate.
The publisher of your ebook will be identified
as BathtubBook, (It's part of the Bedtime-Story Literacy Project,
Inc.)
The Editing value typically depends upon the story
length as well as the level of professional editing the submitted
manuscript requires. Formatting, conversion, and cover illustration
costs vary from book to book, and are quoted to us by our third-party
provider(s).
Upon acceptance of your story, the Bedtime-Story
Literacy Project will also provide you with ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS
CASH to list any last-minute loose ends you think we should
be aware of before we turn it over to editing, or for you to confirm
that it's complete.
We will simultaneously provide you with a TAX
DEDUCTIBLE receipt for the value of your book's donation to the
Bedtime-Story Literacy Project, Inc.
Naturally, you must own 100% of the rights to any
submission, and there must be no plagiarism and no A.I. We're
only interested in your own writing talent.
Remember, your name will be on the cover of this
book, your work will have specifically been selected for publishing,
and your readers will undoubtedly want to read more. For many
this may be your debut as a published author. Choose your very
best work for submission.
Step 1 - Send us a synopsis of the story and point
us to your website if you have one.
Step 2 - If we like the story, we'll forward a copy
of our contract for your review, and our editors will read your
manuscript. If you have a particular cover design in mind, tell
us and we'll definitely consider it.
Step 3 - If our editors give us the nod, you'll
return the signed contract, we'll pay you $100 via UpWork, and
we'll also provide a tax-deductible receipt for your donation.
