John W. MacMillan is originally from Canada, where he managed a large Ford dealership before opening his own agency. He also owned "Spiffy's" a popular nightclub in Toronto. Toronto is where John first met his late wife, EVA (click to view photo and memorial video)

After selling his cold weather investments John moved to sunny South Florida in 1989 where he became a popular Realtor. John W. MacMillan of Capital South Realty, Inc. in Fort Lauderdale, Florida specializes in waterfront properties and luxury waterfront homes, in addition to commercial real estate.

He was also the founder of By The Sea Times, the first commercial newspaper in Lauderdale By The Sea.

Active in civic affairs, past president of the local Chamber of Commerce, he also served as an advisor to the Department of Consumer Affairs. As a Realtor, he served multiple terms as a Professional Standards Panel Judge and Grievance Committee member.

John W. MacMillan is a private pilot with over 1000 hours of flight time. As a boat captain, he has crossed the Gulf Stream over 50 times, for business as well as for pleasure. He's working on his next book.
