Wayne Michael Page, the shooter involved in the killings at the Sikh Temple in Wisconsin on August 4, 2012, was a former US Army psychological operations specialist, a qualified parachutist who received a commendation medal, five achievement medals, two good conduct medals, the National Defense Service Medal and a Humanitarian Service Medal. His stepmother Laura Page said the Page she knew was gentle and loving, and had black and Hispanic friends. She also said that she thinks something may have happened to him while he was serving in the military. "The last time I saw Wade was at Christmas time 2001 and he was very happy with the military at that point. 'Now I greatly question that direction. I don't know if the military was good for him." |
As I read this, something clicked in my memory banks, harkening back to Timothy McVeigh and the Oklahoma City Bombing. McVeigh's father had said something similar.
I began to wonder if something was being done to our soldiers without their knowledge.
Wondered if they were being used as human guinea pigs. It wouldn't be the first time.
"....what shocked me most was that not one Congressman
or Senator was shocked that veterans were being used as guinea pigs. Because
this use of America's "expended" warriors has been going on since World War
II. The politicians were only shocked that the veterans weren't advised that
the latest drugs used in latest clinical tests utilizing the neediest and most
desperate walking wounded warriors could cause them to hallucinate or, worse,
kill someone or commit suicide." VETERAN

In July of 2012 on CNN Presents a documentary aired: Soldier
Guinea Pigs; Forgotten Heroes; Betrayal of Trust
Here's what I remembered of Timothy McVeigh (the Oklahoma Bombing conveniently resulted in passage of precursor to the Patriot Act)
McVeigh claimed he had been implanted with a (biotelemetric) microchip during the Gulf War, so a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was filed on May 22, 2002 requesting various documents, including McVeigh's medical records. The requests for McVeigh's medical records were stonewalled. According to Dr. Carl Sanders, the developer of the Intelligence Manned Interface (IMI) biochip, "We used this [chip] with military personnel in the Iraq War where they were actually tracked using this particular type of device." In 1991, McVeigh wrote his sister saying that at Fort Bragg, he and the nine others were told they might be ordered to help the Central Intelligence Agency ''fly drugs into the U.S. to fund many covert operations'' and to ''work hand-in-hand with civilian police agencies'' as ''government-paid assassins.'' He wrote, ''Do not spread this info, Jennifer, as you could (very honestly, seriously) endanger my life.'' Video footage eventually surfaced showed convicted and executed bomber Timothy McVeigh undergoing military training in 1993—at a time when the FBI claims he had no military affiliations. Serious questions have been raised concerning use of the government's MK-Ultra (mind-control) techniques on McVeigh. McVeigh's father inquired, ''Why would Tim, (characteristically a non-drinker), super-successful in the Army (Private to Sergeant in 2 yrs.) (Top Gun) (Bronze Star) (accepted into Special Forces), all of a sudden come home, party HARD, and, just like that, announce he was not only 'disillusioned' by Special Forces, but was, in fact, leaving the service?'' McVeigh's service record rated him "among the best" in leadership potential and an "inspiration to young soldiers."

The stepmother of mass-murderer Wade Michael Page says he was a "soft-spoken, gentle person" who displayed no sign of hatred as a child. Laura Page, who lives in Denver, tells Denver's 9News.com that she was "totally devastated" when she learned her stepson was the man who fatally shot six people at a Sikh temple in Wisconsin on Sunday. Three other people were critically wounded before police in Oak Creek wounded Page who then turned the gun on himself.
Laura Page, told reporters the emerging portrait of her stepson was unrecognizable. "He was gentle and kind and loving and a he was a happy person and a happy child. And what happened, God only knows, because I don't," Page said.
The worst part, she says, is the pain felt by six other families. "My heart goes out to those people," Page says. "I'm devastated for them." She says she takes some comfort in pictures from happier times.
Page chooses to remember her former stepson as a little boy, and not the man, full of hate who did "this horrible thing." Wade Page's parents divorced when he was a child. Laura married his father, Jesse Page, when Wade was 10. They divorced in 2001. "It was a family full of joy and love," Laura Page tells the Denver Post. "We did the normal things that families do." Wade Page's mother, Beverly Van Buskirk, died in 1985 when he was 13, the Post reports.
Wade Page, 40, has two sisters. The Post says his father, Jesse Page, declined comment from his Texas home. Laura Page also spoke with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, saying Wade Page was a "precious child."
"He was kind and gentle and loving," Laura Page tells the Journal Sentinel. "He was normal in every way that I can think of." Laura Page told ABC: "When he lived in Texas with us, he had Hispanic friends and he had black friends." Page added.
'The last time I saw Wade was at Christmas time 2001 and he was very happy with the military at that point. 'Now I greatly question that direction. I don't know if the military was good for him. I don't know. I wish I had some answers. And we're not going to have answers because he's dead. 'I can't imagine what could have gone through his mind for him to do something like this, or anyone to do something like this. You can't be functioning normally obviously. But we'll never know why.'
Page's grandmother, Elaine Lenz, told the Journal Sentinel that Page was a caring grandson who sent her a dozen roses two weeks ago "just to tell me he loved me."
Oak Creek Police Chief John Edwards says Page "was in the military from 1992 - 1998. He had a general discharge and he was ineligible for re-enlistment."
After leaving the military, Page became active in the obscure underworld of white supremacist music, playing in bands with names such as Definite Hate and End Apathy. Still, Oak Creek Police Chief John Edwards cautioned on Monday that investigators might never know for certain what motivated the attack on the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin in suburban Milwaukee. Police have not identified a motive, found any telltale writings or any clues left by the gunman. Page's family members have not reported observing any warning signs, said Oak Creek Police Chief John Edwards. So far, no hate-filled manifesto has emerged, nor any angry blog or ranting Facebook entries.
Wade Michael Page, the shooter in the Sikh temple tragedy in Wisconsin, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head after he was shot in the stomach by a responding officer.

There's something happening here. What it
is ain't exactly clear
There's a man with a gun over there. Telling me I got to beware.
I think it's time we stop, children, what's that sound?
Everybody look what's going down.
There's battle lines being drawn. Nobody's right if everybody's wrong
Young people speaking their minds. Getting so much resistance from behind.
I think it's time we stop, hey, what's that sound?. Everybody look what's going
down
What a field-day for the heat. A thousand people in the street.
Singing songs and carrying signs. Mostly say, hooray for our side.
It's time we stop, hey, what's that sound?. Everybody look what's going down.
Paranoia strikes deep. Into your life it will creep. It starts when you're always
afraid
You step out of line, the man come and take you away.
We better stop, hey, what's that sound?. Everybody look what's going down.
Stop, hey, what's that sound?. Everybody look what's going down.
Stop, now, what's that sound?. Everybody look what's going down.
Stop, children, what's that sound?. Everybody look what's going down.
