THE CASE FOR VOTING STRAIGHT DEMOCRAT IN NOVEMBER
The original
Republican party no longer exists.
That's not an opinion. That's a fact.
In case you missed it, there was a political coup. All that remains now of the once proud G.O.P. is the party name.
The Republican party is under new management. The message being promoted by the party is geared towards a gullible audience of Fox TV watchers who blindly accept the promotional slogan "Fox News - Fair and Balanced", without recognizing the irony therein. Spoiler Alert: If you've been getting all of your information from Fox "News", someone should have told you by now that this is not actually a real news channel. Fox News is a propaganda tool of the far right. The propensity for outright lying to naive and intellectually challenged viewers during news and news-related talk shows, has earned it the well-deserved nickname "Faux News". |
Fox and the Wall Street Journal are two of many media entities owned by billionaire Rupert Murdoch, each of which are well positioned to further the financial and legislative objectives of the 1%, to the detriment of the other 99% of American citizens.
Deliberately false news broadcasts by Fox are perfectly legit. That startling piece of news was imparted when Fox appealed a lower court decision in a whistle-blower lawsuit. Their defense was that they had no legal obligation to be truthful in their reporting. There was no discussion of either a moral or professional obligation.
The appeals court agreed that Fox had indeed been untruthful, but ultimately agreed with Fox's argument that the FCC's POLICY against the intentional falsification of the news is not a LEGAL mandate, requirement or regulation, wherefore Fox remains free to continue to falsify news reports.
From the 2004 ruling: "Because the FCCs news distortion policy is not a law, rule, or regulation under section 448.102, Akre has failed to state a claim under the whistle-blower's statute. Accordingly, we reverse the judgment in her favor and remand for entry of a judgment in favor of (Fox's) WTVT."
Rather than risk being lumped in with the newly radicalized party of religious extremists, a significant number of original, or as they are sometimes known, Eisenhower Republicans, have left the Republican party and have re-registered their political affiliation as either Democrats or Independents. The substantial influx of Eisenhower Republicans to alternative political affiliations, has resulted in a redefined Democrat party, now heavily weighted towards Progressive Centrists.
About the members of the newly conquered Republican party; The most vocal rank and file members of the party are intellectually challenged, misogynistic, rabidly far-right, knuckle-dragging, religious zealots. These so-called "low-information voters" are anti-science, anti-math, anti-education, anti-facts, anti-"other", and they're easily manipulated by the media.
|
Fox and Republican party leaders pander to, and stoke the fires of fear and prejudice amongst this group. The overwhelming majority of these "low information" voters are totally ignorant of the issues and can be relied upon to stay that way. They will obediently line up to demonstrate support for their party's platform, even when they don't actually know what that happens to be. |
Bigots, Homophobes, and Racists are particularly well represented within the gun-toting Republican party. Popular signs displayed at Tea Party Republican rallies;
|
In 2008, the carefully selected contingent of ultra-conservative candidates from the Tea Party wing of the Republican party were treated to a financial windfall of political financing in exchange for doing the future bidding of their billionaire benefactors. As a result, the majority of Congress is composed of the intellectully challenged, and in some cases, batshit crazy, Republican fringe. Lest you think this is an exaggeration...... |

Asked if he supported abortion in the case of rape, Republican Rep. Todd Akin,
(R) Missouri, said, "From what I understand from doctors, that's really rare,"

"I think what you’re advocating for is censorship on the part of government. So the government would prohibit intelligent design [referencing the Republican proposal that schools be mandated to teach the literal Biblical story that the world was created in 6 days, etc.] from even the possibility of being taught in questioning the issue of evolution. And if you look at scientists there is not a unanimity of agreement on the origins of life. … Why would we forstall any particular theory? Because I don’t think that even evolutionists, by and large, would say that this is proven fact. They say that this is a theory, as well as intelligent design. So I think the best thing to do is to let all scientific facts on the table, and let students decide"- Republican Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann (R-MN)
There are 47% of the electorate who will not vote for him, Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney complained recently, while addressing his wealthy audience at a private, $50,000 a plate campaign fundraiser. He described the 47% as those people “who....believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing...." "My job is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives," Romney also said
(NOTE: For most people, human rights are a set of values based on principles of dignity and freedom. Both are severely compromised when human beings cannot meet their basic needs.) |
The primary responsibility of today's Republican lawmakers who are beholden to their wealthy financial benefactors, is to pass every piece of corporate, financial, military industrial, fossil fuel, or other billionaire-friendly legislation placed in front of them. The Republican Congress
believes the remainder of their duties entail;

Finally, these Republicans were tasked with preventing the possibility of a second term by the incumbant Democratically elected President. Towards that end, on the eve of the Democratic President's inauguration, key members of Congress and Republican strategists met and conspired to delay, obstruct, filibuster or otherwise prevent each and every proposal by President Obama that was designed to help the nation, regardless of the resultant damage suffered by the country, the citizens, the economy, or by their individual constituencies. Understandably, this has resulted in the Republican congress earning a 13% approval rating, the lowest in American history. |
